What To Expect Your First Visit:
- Fill out paperwork
- Review insurance coverage
- Consultation with Doctor to discuss reason for your visit
- Examination/Review plan of care/Receive treatment
- Schedule additional appointment(s) if necessary
On average, new patient visits take approx. 30-45 minutes.
You'll meet with one of our providers, either Dr. Don Doyle or Dr. Kristen Doyle (depending who is on staff - please notify us if you have a preference), to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care meet your goals.
After your consultation, the doctor will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes, your ability to turn and bend as well as other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Review Plan of Care/Discuss Recommendations
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, the doctor will give you a review of his/her findings to answer the three most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you your history and your goals, the doctor will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, we can refer you to the appropriate specialist. If we believe we can help you, we will recommend treatment and a plan of care.
Patients will receive treatment at the conclusion of the appointment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. Treatment is interactive so you may express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
Follow Up Care
Prior to leaving, patients may be instructed on follow up care to be conducted at home. If you are in pain when you first come into our office, you may be advised to use ice or heat application, avoid certain activities or positions, or follow up with home exercises and/or stretches.
Scheduling Additional Appointments
Each patient is unique and responds to care differently. Each condition requires its own evaluation and management. The length and duration of treatment depends on your clinical status. We will make determinations based on your status and recommend a specific treatment plan to fit your needs. We respect your right to decide what level of health is appropriate for you. During your initial visit, a treatment program will be established and agreed upon. We will work as a partner with you to reach the level of wellness that you prefer. We will advise you if/when to schedule additional appointments at the conclusion of your visit.
